Dr. Meribel Bacalan is working as the Clinical Director at Chesterton Location. Maribel Bacalan is a highly skilled and dedicated physical therapist with over 15 years of experience in the field. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from De Los Santos – STI College in Manila, Philippines, in April 2002, and later pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY, USA. Dr. Bacalan holds various certifications, including Brain Injury Specialist, Integrative Dry Needling, Myofascial Release Clinician, Dementia Practitioner, Rehabilitation Instructor, Evidence-Based Concussion, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Lymphedema Therapist, and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner.
Dr. Bacalan’s passion for teamwork and collaboration in patient care is what makes her a valuable team member at Chesterton Physical Therapy. She appreciates the unique approach of the facility, where patients are seen as clients of the entire team rather than being assigned to a single therapist. This collaborative environment allows the team to leverage their combined knowledge and expertise to enhance patient recovery.
Inspired by her mother and her twins, Dr. Bacalan is a firm believer in the principle “Never Give Up,” which she applies to both her personal life and her approach to patient care. Her keen interest in physical therapy science and its impact on patient healing has driven her to continuously pursue further education in her field.
In her free time, Dr. Bacalan is a devoted yoga practitioner, often spending weekends in the yoga studio for extended 3-4 hour sessions. Her dedication to her practice and her patients reflects her unwavering commitment to improving lives through physical therapy.
